These terms describe use of the Volleyball Family Foundation (VBFF) website at volleyballfamilyfoundation.org, including inquiries, coach nominations, newsletter signups, and links to donation and event services. Separate written award agreements, event conditions, or other program agreements may apply to a particular activity.
Website use
Use the website lawfully and provide accurate information relevant to your request. Do not impersonate another person, submit information you lack authority to provide, upload malicious or unlawful content, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt the website. Administrative accounts are restricted to authorized personnel; account holders must protect their access credentials.
The website is intended for coaches and other adult supporters, such as donors, sponsors, and volunteers. Students and families who want support should ask their coach to nominate the student or contact us.
Coach nominations
VBFF currently supports California high school volleyball students in grades 9 through 12 who need financial help to take part. Students do not apply directly. Only adult high school coaches may nominate a student, using one of two separate sign-ups:
- Season sponsorship: up to $450 per student toward the costs of one high school season. Girls' volleyball is supported in the fall season and boys' volleyball in the spring season. The coach lists the student's season costs.
- City Championship ring: up to $275 per approved student toward a championship ring, for a student on a team that won its city championship.
Each nomination describes the student's financial need and includes a short piece of writing or artwork from the student. By submitting a nomination, you agree to these terms and confirm that you are at least 18, that you coach the nominated student, that the student chose to share the writing or artwork included, and that you have not included the student's contact details, photographs, or school records.
Submitting a nomination or receiving an acknowledgment confirms that we recorded it; it is not approval or a promise of funding. Awards depend on these program rules, review, and available funds. We confirm each coach's role using the school email address and lookup link provided, and we may contact the school. We may ask for clarification, or decline or withdraw consideration of a nomination that contains inaccurate information. If a nomination is approved, we will work with you to contact the student's parent or legal guardian before arranging support, and we will tell recipients about any award conditions before they accept assistance.
VBFF does not currently offer higher-education scholarships or equipment grants to schools.
Photo or publicity consent is separate from a nomination and is voluntary. Declining that consent does not affect financial assistance or program participation.
Approved awards are paid to the student's school, or to the nominating coach when that is more practical. Awards are not paid to students or families. A coach who receives an award must use it only for the nominated student's listed costs and give VBFF receipts showing how it was spent.
A student may receive more than one award, including more than one in the same season. VBFF decides awards in its sole discretion, based on these program rules and available funds, and will email the nominating coach with each decision. No one is entitled to an award, and a past award does not guarantee a future one.
Donations
VBFF is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) (EIN 41-5308954). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donation forms, payment processing, and receipts are provided through Zeffy; your Zeffy receipt is your acknowledgment for tax purposes. Review the donation form and Zeffy's terms before submitting a gift. Zeffy may ask for an optional contribution to Zeffy itself; that contribution goes to Zeffy, not to VBFF, and is not a gift to VBFF.
Donors at some levels may choose an optional VBFF T-shirt, valued at $20. If you accept it, the tax-deductible part of your gift is reduced by $20, and your receipt will show this. Website listings, social media mentions, and certificates of appreciation have no cash value.
Donations are non-refundable. If you were charged in error, such as a duplicate charge or an incorrect amount, contact support@volleyballfamilyfoundation.org and we will work with Zeffy to correct it. You can cancel a recurring donation at any time through Zeffy or by contacting us; cancellation stops future charges.
Events and external services
Event listings may link to registration services such as Zeffy, Luma, or Partiful. Their terms, privacy notices, payment conditions, and cancellation rules may apply to transactions on their services. Consult the specific event listing for the organizer, venue, eligibility, and event conditions. These website terms do not replace a separate activity waiver or participation agreement.
Website content and submissions
Website material is owned by VBFF or used with permission from its owners. Applicable copyright and other rights remain with their owners. Do not reproduce material beyond what applicable law or the owner permits.
Submitting a nomination or other request allows VBFF to review and use that submission to handle the request and administer the relevant program. It does not transfer ownership of the submission or grant permission for public advertising or publicity. A student's writing or artwork remains theirs. Public use of a person's photograph, identifying story, or a student's writing or artwork requires separate written permission, which for a minor comes from a parent or legal guardian.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy at volleyballfamilyfoundation.org/privacy describes how website information is handled. Privacy information, newsletter choices, parent/guardian photo permission, and any event liability waiver serve different purposes; agreeing to one does not automatically provide the others.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website, its content, and VBFF's programs are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the website will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors or harmful components.
VBFF does not operate, supervise, or control school volleyball programs, teams, practices, games, travel, equipment, or championship rings, and is not responsible for them. Schools, coaches, and vendors that receive award funds are responsible for how those funds are used. Zeffy, Luma, Partiful, and other third-party services are operated by others, and VBFF is not responsible for their services, content, or practices.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VBFF and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents are not liable for any damages of any kind, whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive, or for any loss of data, opportunity, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the website, a nomination, an award or a decision not to make one, a donation, or these terms, whether based on contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other theory, even if advised of the possibility of those damages.
If, despite the paragraph above, VBFF or any of those people is found liable, their total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the website, nominations, awards, donations, or these terms will not exceed the total amount you paid to VBFF in the twelve months before the claim arose.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, willful injury, or gross negligence, and nothing in these terms takes away rights that applicable law does not permit you to waive.
Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless VBFF and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or relating to your use of the website, information you submit, your violation of these terms or of anyone's rights, or, for a coach who receives award funds, the use of those funds.
Disputes
Informal resolution first. Before starting any claim, send a written description of the dispute and the relief you want to support@volleyballfamilyfoundation.org. We will do the same before starting a claim against you. Both sides agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute within 60 days of the notice before going to court.
Time limit. To the extent permitted by law, any claim must be brought within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California, and both sides consent to their jurisdiction. Small claims court in Sacramento County is available for claims that qualify.
General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with any separate written award, event, or program agreement, are the entire agreement about their subject.
We aim to keep website information accurate and available. Contact us if you encounter incorrect information or an inaccessible feature.
Changes and contact
We will date revised terms and provide any notice or renewed agreement required by applicable law. A website update does not by itself change a separate signed agreement.
