A Letter From Our Founder
My volleyball journey began in high school. The night before my very first day at William Howard Taft High School, I was flipping through TV channels and happened to catch my future high school team playing in their city championship match. Thrilled by the possibility that I might one day end up on TV, I was instantly hooked.
The very next day, my first high school teacher unknowingly turned out to be the volleyball coach. After seeing players from the team come in to greet the coach during instruction, I knew it was meant to be and decided to join the team right then and there.
I have continued to play volleyball ever since. Now, 15 years later, I still play every week at the beach. I consider volleyball one of the best things to ever happen to me. It taught me to work hard, to never give up, and the level of focus you find yourself in match point.
Why I Started VBFF
Although I was fortunate enough not to face financial barriers myself, I remembered that there were kids who couldn't afford to participate but were entirely deserving. That stuck with me. Since 2023, I've been personally sponsoring kids so they could play high school volleyball.
Realizing how many young athletes were still in need, I decided to make it official. In 2026, I established the Volleyball Family Foundation to expand our reach, invite more people to help, and bring the community together for this cause. I founded this organization to ensure every kid has the chance to share that exact same joy.
